Dr Shahid Yusuf is currently Chief Economist of The Growth Dialogue at the George Washington University School of Business in Washington DC. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University, and a BA in Economics from Cambridge University.

Dr Shahid Yusuf is currently Chief Economist of The Growth Dialogue at the George Washington University School of Business in Washington DC. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University, and a BA in Economics from Cambridge University.

Prior to joining the Growth Dialogue, Dr. Yusuf was on the staff of the World Bank. During his 35 year tenure at the World Bank, Dr. Yusuf was the team leader for the World Bank-Japan project on East Asia's Future Economy from 2000-2009. He was the Director of the World Development Report 1999/2000, Entering the 21st Century.

Prior to that, he was Economic Adviser to the Senior Vice President and Chief Economist (1997-98), Lead Economist for the East Africa Department (1995-97) and Lead Economist for the China and Mongolia Department (1989-1993).  Dr. Yusuf has written extensively on development issues, with a special focus on East Asia and has also published widely in academic journals. He has authored or edited 26 books on industrial and urban development, innovation systems and tertiary education, which have been translated into a number of different languages.

Macquarie University

Dr Matt Bower is a Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University's School of Education who specialises in innovative approaches to technology enabled learning design. Areas of focus include Web 2.0 learning design, socially networked learning, collaboration using web-conferencing and virtual worlds, augmented reality and blended reality learning.

Dr Bower leads the Macquarie University Learning Technology Research Cluster and is driven by the challenge of how technology can be used to seamlessly facilitate more effective concept representation and interaction.

He has over 50 research publications in the areas of teacher education, computer science education, and technology enabled learning design.

Dr Bower is an Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citation Award winner and was leader of the Australian Office for Learning and Teaching project entitled "Blended synchronicity: Uniting on-campus and distributed learners through media-rich real-time collaboration tools".

Professor Andrew Ng is a Co-founder of Coursera, and a Computer Science faculty member at Stanford. In 2011, he led the development of Stanford University's main MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) platform.

Professor Andrew Ng is a Co-founder of Coursera, and a Computer Science faculty member at Stanford. In 2011, he led the development of Stanford University's main MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) platform, and also taught an online Machine Learning class that was offered to over 100,000 students, leading to the founding of Coursera.

Ng's goal is to give everyone in the world access to a high quality education, for free. Today, Coursera partners with top universities to offer high quality, free online courses. With over 100 partners, over 500 courses, and 6 million students, Coursera is the largest MOOC platform in the world.

Recent awards include being named to the Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world; to the CNN 10: Thinkers list; Fortune 40 under 40; and being named by Business Insider as one of the top 10 professors across Stanford University.

Outside online education, Ng's research work is in machine learning; he is also the Director of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab.

Dr Jack Whitehead is a Visiting Professor at the University of Cumbria. He is a former President of the British Educational Research Association and Distinguished Scholar in Residence at Westminster College, Utah.

Dr Jack Whitehead is a Visiting Professor at the University of Cumbria. He is a former President of the British Educational Research Association and Distinguished Scholar in Residence at Westminster College, Utah. He is a Visiting Professor at Ningxia University in China.

He is a member of the editorial board of the Educational Journal of Living Theories (EJOLTS - http://ejolts.net/node/80 ). Since 1973 his research programme has focused on the creation of the living educational theories that individual's use to improve their practice and explain their educational influences in their workplaces. His original contributions to knowledge have focused on enquiries of the kind, 'How do I improve what I am doing in my workplace?' These contributions can be accessed from his web-site at http://www.actionresearch.net.

His recent research has focused on the use of digitalised video-data in explanations of educational influences in continuing professional development in a range of workplaces.

John Field is Emeritus Professor in the School of Education, University of Stirling, Scotland, where he spent twelve years as Professor of Lifelong Learning.

John Field is Emeritus Professor in the School of Education, University of Stirling, Scotland, where he spent twelve years as Professor of Lifelong Learning.

During this period he also served for seven years as the University's Vice-President for Research. His research interests include social, historical and policy studies of higher, vocational and adult education.

He has authored seven books, including a widely used text on Social Capital, and Working Men's Bodies, a study of British work camp systems before 1939. He has edited nine books (including the Sage Handbook on Aging, Work & Society) and has published many papers in scholarly journals.

He has also been involved in a number of policy advisory roles, including a recent UK Government Office of Science foresight initiative on mental capital and well-being.

He was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Open University in 2006, and he is chair of Scotland's Adult Learning Partnership.

Dr Lee Kwok Cheong is CEO of SIM Global Education.  Previously, he was the founding CEO of NCS Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of the SingTel Group.

He was bestowed The Public Service Medal in 2010, and the Special Recognition Award by the then Ministry of Information, Communications and The Arts in 2006.

He is active in both education and ICT.  He had served on the boards of Singapore Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, Institute of Technical Education, the Committee to Review Upgrading Opportunities at Degree Level, the Policy Study Workgroup on Education & Human Capital Excellence, and as President of the Singapore Computer Society. KC currently sits on the Steering Committee of the Infocomm Media Masterplan under MCI and chairs one of its Working Committees.

He now serves on the National Integration Council's Working Group for Schools as well as spearheaded the establishment of the Singapore Association for Private Education (SAPE) and is the Founding President. K C also serves on the Boards of ITE Holding Pte Ltd, Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA), Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS), Nera Telecommunications Ltd and SIM University and chairs CRA's Technology Advisory Committee.
